Massive fire in Kolkata hotel, 14 people died tragically

Kolkata:  A sudden fire broke out at a hotel in Machhua Fruit Mandi located in Bada Bazaar area of ​​Kolkata at around 8:15 pm on Monday night. The accident was so terrible that 14 people lost their lives and many people were seriously injured. Due to the fire, this hotel was completely burnt, while some people ran towards the upper floor to save their lives, but luck did not support them.

The cause of the fire and the status of the scene

According to sources, the fire started from the hotel kitchen and on seeing it spread to the entire building.  During this time, an employee jumped from the balcony of the hotel to escape and gave his life. The fire brigade team was immediately informed to extinguish the fire, but due to narrow streets, they had trouble reaching the inside. Eventually the team had to break the wall and enter inside and with the help of stairs, the trapped people were taken out.

Lack of security arrangements increased crisis

There was no proper arrangement to extinguish the fire in the hotel, due to which the situation worsened. The hotel employee Manoj Paswan (40 years) lost his life when he decided to jump from the balcony instead of running away.

Administration statement and future security

Kolkata Police Commissioner Manoj Kumar Verma said that 14 people have died in this accident and a special team has been formed to investigate the matter. He also said that the fire has been controlled and rescue work has been completed. Regarding this incident, he said that this incident is an indication that there is a need to pay serious attention to security arrangements in such crowded areas, so that such incidents can be avoided in future.
